The Sony DVW-700WS is a Digital Betacam 16 x 9/4 x 3 switchable camcorder. It uses a newly developed Hyper HAD 1000 FIT widescreen sensor, and achieves full digital video acqusition in both the 16 x 9 widescreen and 4 x 3 picture formats. This versatile unit enables the selection of set-up cards that match a variety of Kodak film emulsions to achieve certain looks. Featuring color playback without the use of a playback adapter, the system also contains two 16-bit digital audio channels, and offers both clear scan and extended clear scan. Digital Betacam is 100% digital cinematography, providing clean footage that maintains its integrity when copied. Steadicam Steadicam is a camera stabilization system that combines the steadiness of a dolly with the freedom of movement of a handheld shot.
